Every child is unique, special and different. We believe that each child have their own special needs and approaches of learning. At AIS, we try to develop fun learning towards music, art and nature. Through our play-debrief-replay approach, we provide opportunities for creative, investigative play followed by helping children to reflect on their play experiences. Our curriculum encourages children to grow in their capacity to understand the concepts and improvise on important ideas. Field trips such as “imo hori”　(sweet potatoes digging), visit to the zoo, aquarium and more will broaden their knowledge and understandings.

�@We believe that from birth to three, the child will have an absorbent mind.

This is when conscious learning has not yet emerged,
and a child will unconsciously soak up all information
from the environment, learning about it rapidly.
At this stage, all the information and impressions made
on the child's mind are actually shaped and formed.
Therefore, daily experiences are vitally important to a child.

�AWe believe that from three to six, the child will have a conscious mind.

This is a stage where a child's mind is still absorbing but now
consciousness begins to appear. The child will eventually know
what he or she wants, and starts to become more curious,
creative and imaginative. The child will be thirsty for knowledge,
start asking open-ended questions and do open-ended activities.

Music: Learn and discover expressions through words, music and movements.
Children who play or sing music regularly perform better in
reading and math when they begin elementary school.
Since playing, singing and dancing to music increases both fine
and gross motor skills and helps develop hand-eye coordination,
these children are better able to control their bodies.
Those actively involved in music also tend to have high self-esteem
and are better at playing with others.

Art: Learning through themes and projects that evolve a child's interest.
Art for the young children is all about experimenting and learning. 
The finished product may not look like art, but be assured the whole
creativity and discovery process is a valuable learning process.
Art and craft activities are an important part of a child's developmental play. 
Not only does doing art projects help with a child's fine motor development,
but it also helps them gain pride in what they can accomplish.

Nature: Learning to plant and grow the seeds wisdom.

Children learn about environmental stewardship.
Environmental education needs to start at an early stage
with hands-on experiences with nature. Children at home have very little
opportunity to explore the wonders of plants, bushes, trees and flowers.
Additional research shows that if children need have time to explore
and fully understand nature. Most children nowadays
have little to no understanding of the natural world.
Children must be allowed time in
their early years to interact with nature and living elements before they
can understand it well enough to want to preserve it.
We also want children to practice personal growth and social skills.
This activity provides opportunities for children to work together
cooperatively as a team to solve problems.
This activity will teach them about nutrition and health.
This also allows them the opportunity to make food choices based on new experiences.

Ayla International School（アイラ　インターナショナルスクール）は
子どもたちの思いやりと一人一人の思い出を大切にするスクールです。
子どもに大切なことは何でしょう？
子どもが一番興味を引かれているものは何だと思いますか？夢中になって遊んでいる
子どもたちはそこからたくさんのことを学んでいきます。

AISでは　教育の基本として「Art」　「Music」　「Nature」の３つを挙げています。

「Art」は　子どもが自由に自分の気持ちを表現できるようにいろいろなアート
materialsを自由に使えるように用意しています。
AISの先生は子どものことをよく観察し　子どもが本当に知りたいこと
一番興味を持っていることを　子どもたちの会話の中から拾ってきます。
それによって子どもが　自由に想像力を膨らませることが出来るようになり
言葉が増えてくるようになるのです。

「Music」は　集中力を養い　運動能力を発達させます。
「音楽」では何が大切でしょうか？それは　ひとつの音楽を聴いたときに　
聞く人によって色々な感じ方があるものです。
「Music」は子どもの言葉のthesaurusの宝庫です。
メロディーや歌詞を聴きながらジェスチャーすることにより、
また　体を動かしながらメロディーに合わせて表現したりすることによって
歌の中から言葉の数を増やしていくことが出来るのです。
これは言語の能力の発達につながります。

「Nature」は子どもが　Kindergarten ageになると　
周りの環境にとても興味を持つようになり、それについて知りたい
気持ちがとても強くなります。これにより子どもの周りの環境に対する
感覚の発達をさらに促進します。
AISでは　花に水をあげたり　野菜を育てたり　動物を見たり　
友達との関わりやご近所の方々とのふれあいを通して、
子どもたちが成長することを大切にしています。
毎日の周りの環境の変化を意識することにより
気持ちも成長していくことが出来ます。
社会勉強と　外とのふれあいを目的としたField TripをTerm１回行います。

これらのAISのエッセンスを基にしてAISでは子どもの
「思いやりの気持ち」と「のびのびと育つ」「日々のActivityの能力」を育てていきます。
